Sub, I've seen you recommend people not to use the gbmvp.bin dongle, why?

gbmvp.bin was created a few months ago, but unfortunately soon after Hauppauge introduce some hardware changes in the new H series of MVP that is not fully compatible with the gbmvp.bin. Alot of those H series devices are now showing up, so until I get those hardware problems resolved, I'm not recommending gbmvp.bin.

Where is it glitching or what is it lacking.

For the most part it was ok, but feedback indicated it was a little less stable than the Hauppauge version. I'm not really surprised - it was a big bit of work, and still very new, so not yet as stable as the Hauppauge dongles.

I personally (for now) use the dongle.bin that came with 97.13, would you recommend to use an other?

Thats fine for older models, D3, D3A etc and for the H0, but H2/H3 need a newer dongle.

I've got this linux server running 24/7, wonder how hard it would be to translate your proggy into linux speak?

Time permitting I might try to do this, just combine source from a UDP packet sniffer and a WOL proggy....for Linux. Linux runs real well on old machines that pile up in your basement.
