While this is really low low LOW on the priority list, I beg of you, won't you consider the children!? You know, the ones that push the button to launch gbpvr, and then keep doing it when it doesn't pop up RIGHT then and there!?!

ps: I have it set to launch GBPVR by pushing the Firefly remote button directly.

pps: Thanks for a great program. Big Grin

This confuses me. By default it will only launch on instance of GB-PVR. Its possible there is a short period before the process has started running that another instance could be started, but I wasnt able to reproduce it here.

It might be something to do with the way your firefly remote is starting it.

If you click on the GB-PVR shortcut to start GB-PVR, then later click on the same shortcut, it just switches the focus to the already running instance.

Windows XP Pro w/ SP2

and yep. I confirmed it. Apparently my firefly remote is launching more than one instance of it! When I try to do it via the shortcut it's a no go.

This means I'm going to have to sit around and pray for an answer right?

edit:
left message on firefly support forum. let's hope for something conclusive. lol.

a button saving method would be to use StartGBPVR.exe which comes as part of the Appearance Manager plugin from Old Dog. When you install the plugin this little program gets installed to your GBPVR folder, and if you run it, it displays a little splash screen saying 'Starting GBPVR...', then fires up GBPVR itself. the splash stays onscreen until the main menu appears

point your remote button at the program instead of at GBPVR.exe and it shuld help. Certainly helsp the WAF in my house anyways...

Okay..two things

1.) Thanks for the advice, but that just means I'll have to figure out the identifier number again and I don't wanna bug the PtB (oh master lord and creator of thy great GBPVR) too much.

2.) Figured it out, thanks to the much lesser than great "awx" from the Snapstream forum.

Move this thread to support forum or what have you.
Go to the global.xml file and replace with this instead. KEEPING in mind this is for version .97.9
You'll have to figure out what the appid number on your own.

Code:
<Actions Button="Firefly" Description="SnapStream.Firefly.Core.SpecialKeyAction">
<SwitchAppAction ActivationState="Down" Program="c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe" Description="" State="MAXIMIZE" IfAlreadyShowing="SHOW" WindowOrderOffset="0">
<Identifier ClassName="WindowsForms10.Window.8.app.0.33c0d9d" WindowText="GB-PVR" FileName="GBPVR.exe" />
</SwitchAppAction>
</Actions>

oops. lol. PtB = Powers that Be.
It's an (Joss Whedon creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) Angel tv reference, to the Powers that Be which invariably involved them in fighting demons (or in this case bugs).

oh thanks for the tip, the firefly also comes with a program that does the same thing, but it stinks.

(also to note Joss Whedon created a series called Firefly that was great but got canned)

Anybody have the new Firefly mini and has tested it out with GBPVR? It's an IR remote, so it might be more ideal if one ever upgrades to digital cable.

edit:
sorry, that's a side track question and after SOME research (duh)
