Hello, all! Wow, what an awesome piece of software!

I've been fighting with MythTV & Linux for the past two weeks and finally decided to explore WinXP alternatives and found GBPVR. So far (even though I've yet to see any video) I'm very impressed after only about an hour playing with it.

My question is in setup. I'm using a Hauppauge PVR500MCE dual tuner card running on WindowsXP-SP2 (fresh install). When I go to LiveTV, I get the image attached. I'm sure it's a config setting. Any other PVR500 users might be able to enlighten me as to the settings?

Setup:
SUS Vintage-AE1 Sempron SiS 760 Barebone
Hauppauge PVR500MCE
GeForce FX5200
AMD2800
512MB DDR400

Thanks!

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log file and I'll take a look.

You may or may not be aware, but this is the first project of this type where I've posted a problem and was NOT greeted with a "RTFM" or "Check the FAQ, dummy" response. Thank you so very much.

Attached are the logs in question. Being one to tinker while awaiting help, I found that this funky screen appears when VMR9 Custom Renderer is on under Playback of the config tool.

Any other choice (VMR9, VMR7, Overlay Manager, etc.) yields a black screen.

Additionally, I found that using the GBPVR tuning assistant I *could* see channels in that window alright, so I'm further suspecting a config error.

Another clue, is that I've read I might need a "Windows Certified MPEG Decoder" codec in order to view this video. If that's something I do need, I don't know where to find one (or truly what it is for that matter).

Thanks again.

No probs.

Yes, I think its a matter of not having an MPEG2 decoder installed. They're usually installed with the TV software that comes with your capture card, or with apps like WinDVD or PowerDVD.

I installed the demo of WinDVD and *poof* -- I got video. Now I'm seeing that I should probably find the Ulead software decoder to alleviate freezing on FF/REW, but am having trouble finding it. I'll continue to search, but if anyone can provide a link it'd be much appreicated.
