Hi sub!

How about do extend the reading-capabilities of your nice Library-Plugins? As an example:

I am using mostly the Video Archiv originally from GB-PVR (because the nice other plugins are primarely for USA/GB and not fully suitable for my region).

Often i habe 2 Problems: The sorting order (which you would redone some day) AND the reading (much to less space on iconview-mode for reading).

So my idea is the following. All of my recorded/ripped series are formatted like this:
S01E001 - TitleName.avi

S01 = Staff, E001 = Episode, TitleName should be clear.

My thoughts now are, that GB-PVR is able to read the first letters till the "-" of the filename, sort and hide this part of the name. The rest of the filename "TitleName" should be displayed in normal and iconview.

Something similar could be done for the audio- and photolibrary too, or not? I am not a programmer, so i don't know if this were much work, or even done with a simple ".ini, .xml" or something like this. I would be very grateful to you, if you could integrate something like this.

Ah, and one thing more: Is it possibile to use different Pictures for the Icon-Folders, or the background of a specific File-Folder?

Let's say: Folder Simpsons has it's own Simpsons wallpape, while Battlestar Galactica has it's own one. Just an idea, and not so important to me, than the above one Big Grin

This is already possible. If you have a folder.jpg/.png file in the directory, it will shown instead of the folder icon.

Is this format actually that common? I've downloaded a few shows off the net in my time, and there seems to be a few common standards, but I havnt come across that specific filename layout.

Names I've found be common have formats like:

prison.break.s01e01.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-ctu.avi
stargate.sg-1.1002.ws.dsr-dimension.avi
desperate.housewives.s02e23-e24.hdtv.xvid-fqm.avi
Of couse I havnt actually downloaded these, they're just examples Rolleyes

I'm not really sure if there is much to be gained by breaking these names into parts.

If it's common? Mhm, yes and no. On my System, yes, definitive all are in this format, because i renumber and rename them (german tv is ill; they mix ip different episodes and show them in different order so that i resort them back in "right" order).

I am not sure, if all people would using this sorting specs. But if you could export the filename-conventions free configurable with variables, so everyone could set it to his own sort-system.

But... we could start a poll to ask, if this feature would be interesting for a big group of us, or not. I would fully understand that this implemention for only one man would be crazy ^^;

I would NEVER say something else... Big Grin
