You are comfortably sitting in your couch.
You start your movie ...
... the mousepointer is in the middle of your screen.
my program at "http://www.kima.at/setcursor.exe" moves away the cursor.

in my irremote.ini for the hauppauge-remote in the [GB-PVR] section:
BLUE={run(C:\Programme\setcursor.exe)}

solves the problem.

but the blue button's really useful for seeing progress throughout the show... why not just move the mouse yourself? I use a cordless mouse so it's no biggy to have the mouse next to me.

alexey,
Nice idea, not to hide the cursor, but to just move it to the top right corner. That way the mouse is still available, but not in the way. I'll use it soon!

Thanks,
MaBo

You might be able to map it to the Red button. Looking at the current irremote.ini file, it looks like the Red button does the exact same thing as the REWIND button (sends ctrl-R).

The mouse does try to auto hide 5 seconds after movement stops. The only cases I've seen it not hide, is with wireless keyboard which seem to think there was still tiny mouse movements still happening (interference?). Could this be your problem?

It might be the problem that I have. I've got a wireless mouse and sometimes the cursor will appear for no reason and yet not appear to move on the screen at all (and I'm pretty sure that the mouse is stationary because I usually keep the mouse next to the TV when I'm not using it and I don't think the noise ever gets loud enough to shake the surface of my TV cabinet). Guess I'll have to monitor the light on my RF reciever more closely. Still, this setcursor.exe utility is really handy; I've mapped it to my RED button for now and have GBPVR startup automatically when Windows starts so whenever I reboot my computer, I just hit the RED button and all is good. Great utility and I never have to touch my mouse.
