Hi,

I'm using PVR350 to output the GB-PVR menu and playback recorded shows to my TV, it's working perfectly but when I tried to playback some other video files with different codec, like divx, xvid, etc..., the TV screen went blank.

I'm guessing the PVR350 CAN'T do the output to TV when the video files are not mpeg1 or mpeg2.

Is it possible to do it? or any workaround that I can try?

I'm planning to buy a display card with TV output as a solution, if it works. Please let me know, if it's gonna work.

Thanks a lot!

This is true; the PVR-350 can only decode mpeg1 & mpeg2 natively. You would have to convert the videos either at real-time or in a batch process to view it through the 350.
If you get a VGA card with TV out this will work with no problems because it is only converting the VGA signal to a TV out. If you can see it on your monitor you can see it on your TV. [Image: smile.gif]

How about the quality of the output from the display card? Is it acceptable and which brand is recommended?

Thanks!

It should be close to the 350 TV out. You may also be able to use an S-Video out for a little better output over the 350 if your TV supports it. It will not be as sharp as the monitor because a TV resolution is no ware near the resolution of a PC monitor unless you have an HD TV and use one of those connections.
You will also be seeing the PC desktop on yor TV with a VGA card, so if you planed on using the PC while GBPVR was running you will not be able to do it as well since it is the same screen.

Any brand of video card with RCA video and/or S-Video out will work, but to keep with the DirectX support you may want to go with and ATI or an NVidia card.
