Apologies if this is very basic...

I'm in London (UK). I have installed the program, and am using a Freecom DVB-T USB stick. I have succesfully tuned it to the freeview channels and downloaded a EPG .xml file.

I can view all of the channels in the small tuning preview window no problem. However, if I try to vie them in the main program window I can only see about 3 channels - te rest say "No tuning information available" - and yet I can view them in the preview window... any ideas?

Also, is there a simple way to disable subtitles and/or toggle between full and windowed mode?

Cheers,

Ben

Did you do the channel mapping for all your channels on the 'map digital channels to EPG channels' screen?

Ctrl-Y

Alt-Enter

I did. However, I noticed that only a few channels (the ones I could view in the main application) had entries in the "tuning request" collumn. These entries were in the form on long complicated looking strings.

I'm unsure as to what these do or where they come from - it seems confusing that I can view the channels in the preview but not the main window...

To do the mapping you're supposed to click in the 'tuning request' column for each of the channels and select which channel it maps to. It'll give you a drop down list with each of those found.

Doh - stupid me :-)

A few were already mapped as soon as I had scanned, but after manually doing the rest everything seems fine.

Just out of interest, since in almost all cases the mapping is a matter of selecting the channel name from the drop down menu, is this something that could be done automatically - useful when large numbers of channels are in use?

It actually does try, but will only work if the channel name in your EPG is an exact match with the channel name sent in the DVB stream. They're usually not, which is why you only had a few mapped automatically. Slight spelling differences, extra spaces etc...

Got it.

One final question...

Ctrl-Y toggles the "subtitles on" overlay at the top right of the screen, but subtitles still seem to appear. Is there somewhere else they could be coming from? I've unchecked all the relevant boxes I could find in the config program (teletext and show closed captions)...

This is an amazing progam, doubly so since it is freewarre and presumably a spare time project. Thanks to those behind it (Sub?)
