I have two 150MCE cards in my machine, one takes the antenna the other takes the cable box
I cannot get GB-PVR to pick the antenna card in priority to the cable card for recoridng when both antenna & cable have the same channel.
I noted the various posts from Sub which say that the priority order is 'generally' set by the order in the config app and tried switching the order (ie switching the physical cable feeds, and reconfiguring all the channels etc) but it still picks the cable box first.
This is maddening since the cable box has 25 more channels than the antenna, but if it is recording one of the channels available on both the antenna and cable GVB-PVR cannot at the same time record a cable only channel, (since it is using the cable tuner already)
I am wondering if it is something to do with the XMLTV file as I am using the same file for both cards.... maybe if I made separate files for each card?
Ideas anyone?

When you try to schedule a recording, it works its way down the capture source list (in the order shown in the config app), looking for an capture source that has the required channel and is available at the requested time.

If you antenna capture source is listed first, and has the requested channel enabled, and is not scheduled for something else, then it should be selected.

Thanks sub, works OK now. Think I was mislead by the fact that live TV has the reverse priority it seems

Tonight I had a very odd probelm regarding my Tuner priority.

My setup has 2 VBox HDTV tuners (both antenna), and one ATI 550 analog card (cable).

The way I have my config setup is for both HDTV cards to have all the local channels enabled, and the analog card to NOT have those local channels enabled. My thinking was that it would always record locals via the digital cards, and never record locals from the cable feed, as these were "disabled."

However, tonight I had two shows on local channels set to record at the same time. The first was recorded on one digital card as expected, but the second was recorded off the analog card, even though the channel was not enabled in the config.

The analog card does appear above the second HD card in the config list, but since the analog channel was disabled, I figured it wouldn't matter?

I've attached my logs... the recordings were for 10 pm, to record "Studio 60..." and "What About Brian"

I am now changing the priority of the tuners in the list so HDTV always is higher, but it seems as though my old setup should have worked as I wanted...

Thanks

The tuners get allocated at scheduling time. Could your analogue tuner have had the local channel enabled at the time you scheduled "what about brian"?
I'm not always right

Nope... I have had it this way since I set up GBPVR... which was long before I scheduled "What About Brian"

BTW... as expected, reordering the Tuners seems to have fixed the problem...
