Be careful with deleting and re-adding capture sources to change the order. I did this and found that recordings were getting lost.

Reason was that when I originally installed the capture sources, I had numbers 1 and 2, the table that holds the recordings was referencing 1 and 2 but then when I removed and re-added, the tuner OID's became 5 and 6 (I did it a couple of times).

The result was that gbpvr would then try to use tuner 1 or 2 and it didn't exist.

Solution for me was simply to go through the pending recordings in the database manually and nudge the values but if you have a load of pending recordings it's something to be aware of.

(Maybe later versions don't do this behaviour but check first before going out for a Saturday night to return and find that nothing got recorded!)

David.
I got carried away: 3 DVB-T tuners, a DVB-S tuner, 3 MVP's and 1.1TB of storage space Smile

Ive just added a second tuner, I already have a novat-usb2 and have just added a new internal novat-pci.

All is fine and Ive managed to do an initial setup on the second tuner but to setup all the chanels I need I have to do a scan several times during the day to grab all the chanles as some only broadcast in certain time slots.

My original tuner has all the info I require and should be the same settings I need for the new tuner as its a similar device using teh same aerial, so is there an easy way to edit the database to simply copy the chanel settings?

I also wish to re-order the tuners to make the PCI card the default one can I do this by editing the database rather than deleting the USB source and re-adding?

Ive also had problems with the IR from the USB device where pressing "ok" sometimes results in an "up" then an "ok", which is a coomon problem I gather with the Novat-usb so how do I make the IR sensor from the PCI card the default?

Thanks

No, they need to be setup independently.

The only way to do this is dropping and recreating the capture source. (you cant change the capture source oid in the database since it is a generated primary key, referenced by several tables)

I'm not sure. If its anything like the older Hauppauge devices, then Hauppauge probably activate the IR sensor on the last device installed.

Thanks for replying..

Guess Ill have to bite the bullet and remove and re-add the capture source, then scan the channels a couple of times at different points in the day. At least its not something that needs doing that often.

As for the IR, it is still catching the IR from the USB and seems to ignore the newer PCI.

Ill try the Haupage forums see if there's a way to force the IR driver to listen to a specific device.

Thanks

Bob
