Sorry for asking this question again (I've read another post), but I'm still a little fuzzy about how to use the Hauppauge remote that came with the PVR250 card.

I know the following (and little else in this world : ):

1) I am running the IR program - at least the icon is in the system tray.
2) It works with WinTV

I have selected to use the IR program as the control plugin. Is this correct? I have restarted the IR program and still cannot get it to work.

Is there an option I have checked, or should not have checked which might cause the remote to not work with GBPVR?

Thanks for your help!

For the Hauppauge remote to work in GB-PVR, check the following:

- In Config app (Plugins tab), the remote control type should be set to "Default (Hauppauge)"

- c:\windows\irremote.ini should contain
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">
[Applications]
GB-PVR=

This is real trivial info, but it helped me to understand the remote.

The commands from the remote goes to the &quot;active window which name is specified in the irremote.ini file&quot;.

So, if you are running GB-PVR in a window, make sure that window is active, if you get playback in a new window (not named &quot;GB-PVR&quotWink, it will not work.

Lots of links to more info on irremote.ini can be found on http://forums.freytechnologies.com/forums....id=4277

OK,

I feel silly now. I cannot locate the irremote.ini file on my computer. Is this a file I need to download?

Thanks,

This is part of the original Hauppauge software. I suggest you reinstall your Hauppauge software. After you have the remote working with the Hauppauge software (WinTV2000), then you should be able to add the settings above to the irremote.ini to get it to also work with GB-PVR.

C:\Windows, and as sub says, installed by Hauppauge software.
