Haupanage 150 Questions

I have two questions about the Hauppauge150 card.

1. Now I have my cable going in to the card, and I thought you could then take a cable from the second antenna outled and atach that into my tv and record through the computer and at the same time watch regular tv, but that doesen´t seem to work. Is it suppose to work or do I need a split before it goes in to the card?

2. The hauppauge card has the abillity to compress in mpeg2, shouldn´t I be able to select it in configuration under Playback->"Hardware decoder devices" or do I just understand wrong?

The second coax connector is not an output, it is an FM antenna input. To watch TV using the cable from the wall, and also have the 150 record, yes you would need a splitter before the card, then one output from the splitter goes to the 150 card, the other goes to your tv. Or you can watch TV using GBPVR using the input on the 150 card, but you won't be able to watch something and record something else at the same time.

The 150 can ENcode mpeg2, the hardware decoder devices on the playback tab is for DEcoding. Set it to none as you will be using software decoders, not hardware.
