Hi

I moved drives for the video library and while I can still see progs in the directory if point to it, the default recordings directory has started afresh - apart from the one corrupt recording I can't get to go away!!!

Is there a way to refresh the database and
Is there a document/database I can edit somewhere by hand if need be to get rid of that one corrupt track?

I guess I mean, is there a way to import a video library, for times like when you upgrade a hard disk?

Cheers!

Smile

If when GB-PVR loads the recording list from the database, it found that the recordings were not at the place they referenced in the database (ie, deleted or moved) then GB-PVR assumes you've manually deleted the recordings, so it removes the associated data from the database. You'll have to access them through the video library now.

I think there was a utility or two that a couple of users wrote from trying to re-add the details to the database in this situation, but I couldnt tell you anything about these - I've never used them.

Yes, that is the file you need.
Move it to a safe location before its overwritten by the next epg update.

There are a couple of ways to protect yourself in the future, one is to use the PostUpdateEPG.bat below. The other is to use the GetXML utility in my sig.
The PostUpdateEPG.bat will save "dated" backup recording-dump’s in a “backup” folder.
GetXML will save a RecordingName.xml for each recording, in your recordings folder.

PostUpdateEPG.bat
Code:
cd /d "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr"
gbpvr.exe -export
IF NOT EXIST "recording-dump.xml" GOTO EndBackup:
IF NOT EXIST "Backup" MD Backup
REM ***Delete old Backups***
IF %date:~7,2% == 1 del Backup\*.xml
REM ***Daily Backups***
REM COPY "gbpvr.db3" "Backup\"
REM COPY "gbpvr.mdb" "Backup\"
copy recording-dump.xml "Backup\Recording_Dump %date:~4,2%-%date:~7,2%-%date:~10%.xml"
:EndBackup
