DVB subtitle successes ?

1st, awesome application

Just installed latest version and finally got the DVB-EPG umlauts to work (Finland/Vaasa (VLP-cableTV) !

But the Q:
I know the DVB-subtitles can be different in different countrys, but should it work by just enabling it in configuration ? No additional tag's or modifications to config.xml ?
Also, there wouldn't be description about the config-file anywhere, would there ? I realize you wouldn't like to publish it but for example the primary and secondary subtitle -options are total mystery to me 'cause there's just english listed.
Something I missed ?

And to give something back, I thought you would like an addition to BDA>DVB-C -configurations, this attachment includes Finland>Vaasa-VLP MUX-list as listed on the website

If you'd been running versions prior to v0.98.8, and have upgraded, then you also need to have rescanned for channels, since it needs additional info that wasnt picked up in old scans.

I did a full re-install, so I cleaned everything off and started from beginning.

About the codes, you do mean the ISO 639-2 ?

Where can you list the subtitle -choises, or can you just enable one at the time in config.xml ?

You dont get a list, and there is no dynamic switch while the app is running. DVB subtitle support is very new and pretty basic. The idea is you can set your preferred subtitle language in config.xml, then do your scan and it'll setup those channel that have subtitles in the language you selected.

From then on, those subtitles will be available in live tv and recordings for those channels.

With more info and hard trial and error... I got it to work ! :eek:
Finnish tv YLE uses DVB-subtitles in all their channels, next to test the recording etc.

Would you mind shedding some light on how you got it working?

Edit: Got it working now, took some manual editing of the database. Could it be that GB-PRV doesn't recognize the DVB-subs on the channel if that channel isn't sending a program with subs at the moment of scan?
Then again, it only works for live tv, not recordings. Are the subs supposed to be stored somewhere? I'm using dvr-ms as a muxer and from what I've read elsewhere, it's supposed to be able to store subs too, if I've understood correctly.
PS. sorry if there q's are stupid, I've had a BDA device for some 7 hours now
