Hi,

First of all thanks for making this wonderful software available to us. Having tried a few, I'm really impressed with GB-PVR. I live in Denmark, and have connected my GB-PVR to the freeview DVB-T channels available (using a Hauppauge NOVA-T usb stick).

I have a recording from channel DR1 where subtitles are working seamlessly.

A different recording is from channel TV2, where subtitles are not showing. However, if I press ctrl-y or the yellow button on the remote, the subtitles now show, but unfortunately slightly out of sync. Is this a known issue? Is there something I can look into or do about it?

Thanks!

Hi there

I just want to say that I experience the same behavior on the same channels...

Its probably something funny they've done with the encoding of subtitles of TV2. Unfortunately I dont have much control over the timing of the subtitles, they pretty much get delivered when they get delivered.

Hi,

I've been looking a little further into this issue. Could it be that DR1 is using "Hardmatting" (or burning the subtitles into the image) and TV2 is using DVB-SUB, so that the receiver has to render the subtitles into the picture? That would also explain why the subtitles on DR1 shows up without the user having to enable them, while subtitles must be enabled for TV2.

Regards,

I suppose if you disable subtitles completely but still get them on that one channel then you have found the answer (same if watching on a TV).

Yes I think that is the answer. It doesn't solve the issue with TV2 though, only explains why DR1 doesn't have the same issue.

The subtitles are some (~ 5) seconds in advance of the audio/image.

I'm having the exact same issues. But If I watch the TV2 shows that GBPVR captures with another application like VLC, the subtitles are in perfect sync. So it seems to be related to playback only.

If someone can support a 3 or 4 minute recording of TV2, I'll take a look.

I have a 10 minute recording with the issue now. I don't know how to get GBPVR to record less than 10 minutes. Is there a good tool to edit the .ts file so that I can reduce the length further?

I have a website I can upload the file to, for you to pick it up, I think Smile

When you type in a manual recording, pressing left/right increments in 10 minute steps, but you can type in numbers to have finer control. For example, to have a recording stop at 14:23 just type 1423.
