xlobby and gbpvr plugin ???

hi all has any one tryed to intergrate xlobby and gbpvr to get the best of both worlds theres things that i love about both programs so so combine them would make one amazing frontend program has anyone looked in to this i feel this would be a viable intergration or plugin not that i would have any idear in doing this but allways willing to learn so all you developers have a look at xlobby i'm shore you will see what i mean.

I had a look at the xlobbywebpage and did not so quickly see major differences in the interfaces of both programs except for the multitude of platforms supported. I have the impression that concerning functionality it boils down to an individual plugin or so.

When i got it right xlobby is a front end only. In this case due to the set-up of GBPVR interfacing will mean reading and writing to the database trough the API's, so should be possible (similar to the webinterface). Xlobby could this way becomme a front-end for GBPVR on other platforms.

...unfortunately this is about where my knowledge ends...

I tried using xlobby as a playback only option for a slower PC using mplayer.
While it looks good, I think it's too cluttered & too hard to configure.

nitrogen you obviously have not had a good look at the program its got a great database for evry large music files it loads all files with great speed for example i have 20,000 music albums it takes about 10 sec to load all files with album covers displayed built in cover art spider ist use of database is great as for config is is realy easy depending what you are using it for it took all of ten mins to config all music. movies and tv recordings including installing to plugin for playback it allso has the ability to make new screens in the program instantaniously so plugin skins can be made on the go to the way you want them and in the design of you choice including writing the xml and config on the fly so it allows anyone to make a screenof you own choice with a point and clic aproach simular to advisor but it dosent just change items it creates a hole new skin

That is all well & good.
However, I only wanted it for playing back recordings, my ripped DVD's, & rental DVD's with Mplayer on a spare TV.

All the eyecandy in the world is useless to me if I can't make the program work.
In my own opinion, It was easier to configure Geexbox,freevo & mythtv to play back my media files.
I actually choose Freevo because it required less resources.

The configuration program frustrated me to say the least so I just gave up on it.

In order for an app to be useful to me it shouldn't be so hard to configure.
