Hi,

after using GBPVR for quite a while now very successfully my Cable provider in Germany decided to mess around with the channels. I tried now to reconfigure my channel mappings but no everything is messed up. I am using a PVR350 and GBPVR version 0.97.9.

What I tried so far:

1.
a) Channel search on my PVR350 with WinTV
b) Set (in GBPVR config - Edit Recording source) the channel source to the channel which was found in the channel search of WinTV

2.
a) Mapped the channel (in GBPVR config - Edit Recording source) to the frequency (in MHz)

3. Used Tuning Assistent with the following preset file, using the frequencies from my TV
------------------------------------------------
# format: <preset number> <frequency in Hz> <channel ID> "<channel name>"

1 189350000 1 "ARD"
2 175350000 2 "ZDF"
3 210350000 3 "RTL"
4 203350000 4 "SAT.1"
------------------------------------------------

Then I ran freq2reg and imported the keys into the registry

All what I tried so far did not work.
I am completly lost (I do not even know anymore, how it is supposed to work), confused  and out of ideas Sad ....

I would be very grateful, if anybody could shed some light on this...

Thanks in advance,
Thomas

In my experience freq2reg and freqcopy just stuff things up and are a bad idea.

If you run the tuning assistant, do you see all your channels?

Mea culpa :o --- I am a complete idiot. Somehow, I messed things up. I just overlooked the "Tuning Assistent" program which was installed by GBPVR. I thought freq2req and frecopy are the "Tuning Assistent" package.

Your question moved me in the right direction. Running the real "Tuning Assistent" fixed my problem.

Thanks!!

Thomas
