Hi sub, I'm currently experiencing a problem when recording in VCD format. I record an hour show once a week in VCD format so I can put in on a cd. However, the recording gets cut off 40 minutes in leaving out the remaming 20 minutes. Last week it happened as well but I though I might have been doing too much on the pc while recording. Today I was not doing anything on the comptuer and when it finished, i was going to go watch it only to find out that it was missing 20 minutes. Oddly enough, If I record in the same exact quality only change the audo to 48 Khz for archiving on DVD, then I have no problems. I only record in VCD format just to not waste time on rencoding. What is the name of the log file or files so I can upload them to you. Thanks.

The log files are in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr (or wherever you installed gbpvr). Usually sub is interested in all the log files, but I'd guess in this case you only need to supply the ones called gbpvrRecordingService.exe.log and gbpvrRecordingServiceNative.exe.log. As you'll see, the log files are rotated, and three "old" ones are saved, so there will for example be one called gbpvrRecordingService.exe-1.log (and -2 and -3). You'd need to find the one that is for the appropriate time (or just supply them all). Be sure to tell sub which time and show to look for. If you need more info on how to zip and attach, you can read here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=16767

I dont use VCDs so I'm not that familiar with them, but I 'm wondering if there is a limit with VCDs. Dont you usually get 40 minutes per disc? I think it uses constrained parameters, so it doesnt vary from disc to disc.

Personally, I'd avoid VCD and anything else MPEG1 related.

Hi sub sory for the delay. I normally don't recod in VCD either but I only do it when I want to make a VCD i don't have to reencode. The name of the show that I recorded in VCD format is called A Haunting. As you can see from the log files, I recorded another show afterwards in low quality with no problems. Here are the log files. Thanks.

Just a guess: I saw that you are using the ligos audio-decoder, I've seen before that people were having trouble with that. You might want to try another.

Sub, you mean that the logs are not showing any errors or the log files are empty?

Thanks sub. Loks like I will either have to recompress to VCD or just record in DVD
