I have a WinTV PVR USB2. I am getting a signal when I go to Live TV. Initially (The first few seconds) I have audio and video. After that I get a jittery video picture and no audio. The video appears to be in slow motion or only random frames from the cable feed.

Also when I record a show I am only getting snow/static. I am not getting the audio or video.

Does anyone have any suggestions on possible solutions or config settings that may help me here.

First I'd get it working correctly with the Hauppauge Win2K software that came with your PVR box to make sure your hardware is OK.

As far as the static recordings are concerned have you completely set up the tuning parameters under your capture source?

"Jittery video picture and no audio" sounds like a decoder problem to me. Check the settings under Playback tab to see what you're using. If it says "System Default" for audio and video decoding then see what else is available for you to try on those pulldowns.

Live TV problems could also have something to do with "preview mode," try playing with that to see what changes.

It would be nice if there was one set of instructions for decoder issues but if there is, I haven't found it. I have had to do a LOT of tuning on my system to get it working right and I think you're going to have to experiment with it. Win2K uses its own hardcoded set of filters which SHOULD be available to GB-PVR, too.

Another suggestion I can make is that if you can get other video files playing right with Windows Media Player then you should be able to get the same performance with GB-PVR. You might even try saving some good recordings you make with Win2K just for testing out under GB-PVR and WMP.

The snowy recordings sound like a tuning problem to me. Check those links I provided in the last post as a starting point.
