I kind of get the feeling that my installation of GBPVR may need to be re-installed.

I'm keen to do this (uninstall/reinstall) but want to be able to:

1. Keep all channels as configured for my two tuner cards
2. Keep all scheduled recordings, including all season types and ones I have specifically cancelled.

Has anyone else done this ? How have you approached it ?
Do you have a set procedure you follow ?
Regards,
Juice.

I make a backup to another location of the whole gbpvr directory & subdirs, although the installation procedure has never failed me yet. You could also export the recordings before doing this just to make sure.

thought I would share my results....

I took a copy of the directory structure, then renamed the devnz directory and launched the installation exe and chose "repair". It seems that existing recordings are automatically exported on a regular basis as I already had the xml file of the recording dump there.

Bad news was that I had to reconfigure my two cards for UK freeview. In the process of rescanning for channels I've now lost the channel ABC1 on both cards (not a huge issue, but I've lost a source of old Scrubs).

Importing the recording dump and recreating my season recordings was fairly straight forward and trouble free.

There MUST be a way to re-install without losing the channel tuning information - can these be stored in the registry in future ? or dumped out to a file like the recording dump ?

gbpvr.db3 is where programme listings, recordings, etc are all stored. Save that file and put it into the gbpvr directory after the new install. I've done this myself with no problems.
