I have my system up and running with off the air ant. plugged into my card. Now I would like to set up a composite in for dish. When I plug it in from the Dish receiver to the video/audio in on the card. I set up another capture device with composite/external tuner as the source and added a channel called dish. I get nothing. I've done few searches and can't find exactly what I need to do to the configure file. I would like to be able to use my card (500) to record off-air and the video out from the sat. Can I do this and still have 2 off air capture devices set up? I thought I read I could. Or do I have to set one to the dish composite and the other to off air? I like being able to record 2 off air shows at one or one off air and one dish. Thanks!

Yes, you should be able to do this. Try to do a recording from your 'dish' channel, then zip and attach your logs so I can take a look.

I really can't record because I can't even see the dish channel yet. I attached my logs so you could see the setup though.

Why not? Did you create a capture source, set the input to composite, set the EPG source to 'none', then manually add a channel called 'dish'? Nothing should be stopping you from doing this.

Maybe I miss understood. I have added a capture source and set input to composite external tuner. I manually added a channel (1). But I have a total of 3 capture sources. Do I have to erase one? I have 2 set up for off air recordings. I wanted to be able to record 2 things at once. Either 2 different off-air or 1 off air and what ever channel the dish was on.

No you dont need to remove one. You should have three capture sources. One set as device #1, one set as device #2, and the third one set to either #1 or #2. The scheduler knows these are the same device and wont allow two capture sources on the same device to be used at the same time.

Works!!! My problem was I thought I could click the dish channel in the guide and see the output. I have to manual record only. I recorded 10min and it worked fine. Thanks for the quick replies sub. New Zealand? I like to take my mountain bike there some day. Beautiful place.
