Hi,

Does anyone know how to configure XMLTV to automatically retrieve EPG for use with GB-PVR?.

One other query, for some reason or another even though almost all of the channels that I'm able to receive on a stand-alone DVB-T Receiver have been manually selected via Settings>Grabbers under XMLTV.

The following channels only are being found on a GB-PVR channel scan. If anyone can offer any suggestions as to why no other channels are being received I'd be grateful.

CBeebies
Channel 4
Five
Five Life
Five US

EPG is not showing upon pressing 'Guide' button on WinTV Nova-T-USB2 Remote Control. Guess that this is due to EPG/channels not being configured correctly Sad.

Thank you Smile.

Updated 11:50pm 27/11/06.

Tried entering "C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\XmltvGUI.exe \Grab" into UpdateEPG.bat but this didn't work.
(XmltvGUI.exe works without the \Grab (or /Grab) switch but not with the switch - any ideas why this isn't working?).

Followed http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=15269&page=2 (post #11).
Entered the following into UpdateEPG.bat and this seems to work alright.

CD C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\
Xmltvconsole.exe

OK

I'll guess here that you're in the UK due to your list of channels. Have you selected your particular region to scan? If so, try scanning the whole of the uk. Also gbpvr will, at present, only find those channels that are actually broadcasting and in the UK several channels have restricted time slots. I fixed this one by scanning at several times - the channels already found are not lost.

WRT your xmltvgui command, the quotes are in the wrong place.
Try this:

"C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\XmltvGUI.exe" /Grab

The quotes are to tell Windows that the embedded spaces are part of the directory and file name rather than separators.

Getting this command in UpdateEPG.bat should make gbpvr automatically download your guide with the channels you have selected in xmltvgui. (I can't give you chapter and verse here as I'm at work and using a Linux machine.) This setup works fine for me. NB make sure you've selected the option to do a full epg reload in gbpvr config. Every so often I clear the guide and reload to remove oddities caused by re-scheduling of programmes.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Hi AI,

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. Can confirm that more channels have now been found and mapped accordingly Smile. Think that half of the problem was knowing what exactly to do with mapping the channels that had been found in a channel scan Sad.

Thank you for correcting me where the quotes should be. Not familiar with using switches nor creating batch files (even though this is probably a straight forward one for those who know what they're doing so to speak Smile).

"C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\XmltvGUI.exe" /Grab

Shall make sure that the full epg reload option is checked in gbpvr config.

Thank you Smile.
