nah, this would be a PITA. Remote controls are renound for accidental double presses, so every time this happened the system would go through the whole process of firing up the tv before I could escape back out and do what I really wanted. Although it's not intuative at first I'm actually really impressed at how the current layout has been thought out to avoid this. Its easy to press up once, rather than down, down, down, down to get to watch - and any double presses kind of cancel them selves out.

And you can already press 'play' on a program to watch that channel (avoiding the popup altogether).

I agree - I have a tv submenu and I put tv guide first and live tv second as inadvertant double-key-presses were a pita.

A few versions back, I think that "play" on the remote (without the popup) and "watch" (on the popup), behave different from each other when you have multiple tuners and one of them is recording the show. One starts the recording, and one starts a new live stream... can't remember which one, though. And it might have changed in the last releases; I haven't checked...

Great, I did not know that.
Does it work the same with the record button?
I'm at work so I can't test it.
