Gneral question about Tv cards

Hi I am quite curious about this and would like to know. If you buy any PVR card that has an onboard hardware encoder, know the information for it and enter that information into GBPVR's direct ini file, does that mean that that card will work in GBPVR if the card was not originally listed in the gbpvr configuration app right out of the box? I'm qute curuous about this as it seems that some people after been giving the information for their card entered it into the direct ini file and got their card working with GBPVR. Thanks.

Often, but not always.

GB-PVR supports the four or five most common ways hardware encoder cards are hooked up, and nearly all hardware encoder cards are based on these...but is probably a few obscure cards out there which use an entirely different mechanism and wont work by simply adding a new section to direct.ini.

When it comes to digital cards, any device with BDA drivers should work.
