I just upgraded yesterday (for the first time in about 6 months) and when I did so, I lost all my old settings (i.e. scheduled recordings). That was easy to set back up. However I can't seem to watch or record anything anymore. No shows appear in the list of available recordings (even though they are on disc) and if I go to the Video Library section and try to play one manually, I get a basic error message about not being able to play the video.

Is there something basic I should have done to convert the old DB over to the new system (I do have a back up)? Is there a reason it wouldn't recognize any of the videos in my video folder? Seems so odd that my guess is there is a simple fix.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Usually recordings are automatically retained during upgrade (not during a reinstall), but there is always the chance something unexpected will go wrong during the upgrade, which could result in the loss of the recording list.

You could try uninstalling GB-PVR, deleting the gbpvr directory, then reinstalling your original pre-upgrade version of GB-PVR, then restore the config.xml and gbpvr.mdb from your backup, then try the upgrade again.

Its best to upgrade with each release if you can, since I only test upgrades from the previous release.

Okay. Let me try to reinstall 0.96.12 and then do another upgrade and see if it goes more smoothly. If not, I'll send you the log (I checked and there is a clear error in there when it doesn't play the video).

*phew* The problem was soved by doing a full removal of the new version, reinstall of the old, restore of the old DB and then a new install of 0.98. So far, things seem to be functioning quite nicely.
