I'm looking for users of the Adaptec AVC-3610 dual tuner to give me a hand.

I recently upgraded my PVR setup from a USB Hauppauge PVR250 to the adaptec. I just uninstalled the drivers for the Hauppauge, installed the Adaptec and was off and running.

I'm having problems with AV sync on live TV. After a few minutes it will get out of sync and eventually the sound will cut out. I'm using the latest GB-PVR.

Any suggestions out there for audio/video decoders that are working for you as well as any other recommended settings?

I use the adpatec avc3610 with no problems. I am currently using the nvidia decoder but have also succesfully used intervideo. The only other change I have made was in the direct.ini. I changed the INIT_MODE=DEFAULT to INIT_MODE=IVAC so that gbpvr could control the bitrate and resolution. I do not think this will solve your problem though because even with it at default I have never had a problem as you describe.

Thanks for the reply! I switched the the GPL MPEG decoders and that (so far) is working well, but not as perfect as I'd like.

I think it's something to do with my ATi PCI Express Card (or rather the Catalyst drivers) and my built in audio card (a RealTek). I don't know why those would come into play now as they are unchanged from when I had the Hauppauge USB device in use.

I've done some recording with the dual tuner so far and THOSE have been perfect, even when both tuners are in use and recording. It seems to be isolated to LiveTV only.

Do you have the deinterlacing setting in the config app set to 'encoder pass-through'? You should, or it'll likely get out of sync.

Yup, sure do. After searching the forums that's one of the first things I checked. I may try and downgrade my quartz.dll this weekend, but don't think that's the root of my issues since I have no other playback problems.

I may also (in the meantime) try running always in timeshift mode to see if buffered live tv playback is affected. I'm just guessing that doing so will even accomplish anything. Smile

I fixed this problem by updating my sound card drivers. I have a RealTek built in audio device, and while the vendor of the computer listed the last update as sometime in 2005, I found updated drivers for that general chipset that worked. Once I installed them I had a new option for audio out: RealTek Rear Output. Once I chose that direct output my problems seem to have vanished.

Also, like dark_half I needed to change the INIT MODE to IVAC to get bitrate control. sub, do you think you should change the direct.ini file in the next version to make that the default for this device? I did an upgrade from the last version, so perhaps you already did and it just kept my old direct.ini file.

I've already done this.
