Dark screen (images)

Im not sure what would cause this, and maybe im being a bit to critical, but when i watch live TV or a recorded show some of the dark parts of a show/movie are quite dark. I can see them pretty well, but they look just a tad dark.

I've tried this on a LCD monitor and my 42" plasma and still get the same results

Is there a setting to fix this GBPVR or someother place?

Im using 1 svideo connection and the other is coax.

Which decoder are you using?
The purevideo decoder has some nice screen adjustment settings you can access in the GBPVR config program.

Hopeflickering, did you find a solution for this? I have the exact same problem.
I am using the Moonlight Elecard codec and tried playing with the codec's settings but with no luck. It doesn't appear to make any difference at all. I tried many times adjusting the tv but it is not making any better, it appears to be a setting (or problem) with the tuner card. I am using WinTV USB2 which is an external tuner.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
