Unfortunately the 9600 doesn;t have fan speed control but yes, Speedfan is great for controling the cpu fan. My pvr machine would sound like a hairdryer without it.

I think I tried speedfan before and it only controlled the cpu fan, I have a total of 5 fans in my pvr......maybe I can do a low budget water cooling system.....I'll just take out all the fans and put the entire pvr in a bucket of water......

that bucket of water cooling would have spared you a lot of money. you could have spared yourself the spent bucks for this here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post169282 and instead just have used a completely silent & fanless PSU: a plug & a little bit of double-core cable
