Getting my Hauppauge Wintv-PVR 500MCE to work

So I just bought a 500 card and after installing it in my computer and than installing the drivers, I find that no tv watching or pvr software out there recognizes that it is actually installed and working.
I checked device manager and it has both tuners listed under it and says that they are working properly. But wintv200,gb-pvr,and sagetv all report that I have no tuner cards installed.

My system set-up is:
Windows Xp Pro sp2
ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
2gb Ram
Nvidia geForce 8800 gtx
500gb maxtor sata hd

Things I have tried already.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers on the card a few times from the cd drivers.
I tired following the directions on the Hauppauge website for the drivers where you cloe the new hardware wizard and run the driver install and update programs.


So can anyone out there please offer me some help, I really want to use my new card to enjoy some tv. I'll be checking this thread a few times a day so I can answers questions you may have, or try any suggestions. I'd try moving it to another PCI slot.

You might try asking the question over at http://www.shspvr.com/smf. They have pretty good topics covering this sort of problem.

Ya I posted this same thing over there. just trying to get as much help as I can find, seeing as the e-mail tech support from hauppauge takes forever with the sending of e-mails back and forth.

And as for another pci slot, I can't as my video card is covering up the other 2 pci slots in my computer.

Well I thought my video card was blocking my second pci slot, but there was just enough clearance to get the pvr card installed, unfortunately I get the exact same problem on that pci slot as I got on the first one I tried
