There is no simple path to closed captions in the US.There are two ways to get them that I know of though.
Both methods require the new Hauppauge drivers. there is closed caption support for the pvr150 in these.

#1 There is a registry hack that allows you to turn on closed captions if you are using the cyberlink decoder. There is no way to toggle them on and off during playback. They are either on for all channels or off as determined by the registry hack.

#2 Use an external program to pull the closed captions from the mpg stream and create the srt files. Then enable the internal srt viewer to playback files and the subtitiles will show up. They can be toggled on/off during playback.

Edit: I've been meaning to try the second one, but since my system is win2k I'm not sure the latest drivers will work on it.

I downloaded the latest on the web site and in the release notes was...

Driver Release 2.0.48.24201.PreRelease (07/20/06)
* CCInDVD Support.

Is this the support you are talking about ?

Can you possibly point to these hacks and programs for me please ? I've seen some out there but would like to know which ones your interested in or have tried.

Also, in the release notes I saw...

Driver Release 2.0.43.24108.PreRelease (04/18/06)
* The joyous return of Win2k support!

Thought you might be joyous hearing that Smile
