The 1600 is a dual tuner card (one analog and one ATSC) and they can be operated simultaneously with third party applications (like GB-PVR). The Hauppauge software probably can't do it (unless you can get their new background recorder to work) There are a couple of threads on it here if you search for HVR1600.

With the way Hauppauge is packaging the 1600, you should probably look at it as the new PVR150 with a free ATSC tuner thrown in as a bonus.

That is good advice to look at the HV 1600 as a PVR-150 with free ATSC tuner. Thanks!

I noticed Circuit City has it for $69.99 after the $20 rebate good until Feb 3. Looks like free shipping, but they will ding you for taxes...

only issues is if you want a dual card and using a MVP it would not help you. Since the MVP can not display the HD unless it is converted.
