Hello,
First, I'm novice in using GB-PVR (since yesterday) and it seems to be a very good software but I have some questions before using it definitively.

My configuration :
Carte TV : ADS Instant TV DVB-T PCI
Carte graphique : RADEON X1300 Series sur PCI-E x16 (256 Mo)
Télécommande : Microsoft MCE
Mémoire système : 1024 Mo (DDR2 SDRAM)
Carte mère : ASUS P5V-VM DH
Processeur : Intel Core 2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86 Ghz
Le tout dans un boitier ANTEC
Système d'exploitation : Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2

1) TV channels OK, etc........
but, I have a wide screen and I can't get a full screen TV 16:9 ;
I explain myselft : GB-PVR in full screen = 16:9
but the TV screen is in 4:3 ?

2) I'm using an MCE remote control,
working OK but for choosing channel it doesn't seem to work.
If I press on 1 for the first channel OK and on 2 after, nothing move ?

3) I tried to record TV,
no problem but for 20 mn recordings = more than 3 Go (a bit too much) ?

4) Something else, I would like to know :
Is it possible to add your own applications in GB-PVR and how ?
Something like in the main menu : Programs and subdivise in Applications, Games, Utilities.........
I mean something like when you click on a shortcut program on your desktop ?

Thanks a lot in advance for the answers.

P.S. : Excuse my english, I'm french.

F7 on your keyboard toggles aspect ratios. Did you choose "16:9" format in the config app? Since you use dvb-t, then if you hit F7 until you get to "auto", then gbpvr should choose the "correct" aspect ratio (based on which ratio the transmission is being done in).

Not sure I understand you here... it should work like this: if you want to watch channel 12, then you hit 1,2,OK on your remote. Does this not work for you?

3 GB for 20 minutes sounds a lot. However, gbpvr does not change this. It records it in the same resolution that your provider transmits in.
I'm not always right

Thanks for this quick answer.
1) Perfect, just press F7 and screen of 16:9, no problem.
2) You understood what I meant, but it doesn't work for me :
If I press 1 for Channel1, OK
If I press 2 and etc... for others channels, nothing change ; stuck on channel1 ?
3) How do I know the resolution from the provider ?
The TV card supposed to record in MPEG,
but may be I didn't config properly GB-PVR ?
4) No ideas for this question ?

Thanks a lot.

I'm not sure why this doesn't work for you. Does it record the correct channel if you schedule a recording? Can you change channel by using channel up/down on your remote?

I don't know. If you record with the application that came with your capture card, is the file size smaller or the same?

Not really. There used to be at least one plugin that could do this. (Check http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki) I also think you can configure something like that directly in the config app in the "plugin" tab (custom tasks), but I don't know how it's done. I have never tried.

Thanks a lot.[/QUOTE]

So, I can change channel from the up/down key on the remote but of course this one just follow the channels as they are scanned (not by the number but by groups as it's TNT).
I recorded one channel manually for 10 mn and the results is :
one file.TS of 1.68 Go,
during this recording, I can't watch TV, I mean even this TV channel
and no way to be able to see this recording file afterwards !!!!

4) for this point, I will see later on.

5) I forgot one point :
the sound 5.1 doesn't work for the TV but works for the music ?

I just try to record with the software from the TV card :
10 mn recording = 371 Mo
I could watch the recording channel in the same time
I could play the recording.

So,......... may be wrong in my configuration of GB-PVR ?
