Sub,

Apologies for the X-Post, I thought this was an MVP Problem, but I think it's a general one as it's not only the same on the PCH, I also don't seem to get a file that grows in the LiveTV Buffer (although Live TV Works) and when I try to pause LiveTV it doesn't timeshift and make a file, all I get is balck screen. That behaviour probably explains why I don't get anything at all the MVP as I understand that MVP is always in Timeshift on LiveTV.

(original thread) = LiveTV OK on PC but not on MVP (or PCH).

I attach logs but just to let you know background, I was trying to get client working with Vista-Vista and mucked around a lot with shares on the Vista Server, ended up with continuously recording Manual recordings, uninstalled, deleted and reinstalled GBPVR with the old database and config.xml restored. Recordings seem to work OK (at least last night 2 worked) but LiveTV is out of whack.

The D:\GBPVRLiveTVBuffer is a local drive, and I have set Full Control for Guest, Admin, User and SYSTEM for that Share as well as Full Security Permissions for that folder. Do you think it's still a share problem?

Can you do two recordings at the same time?

Yes, I did two simltaneously last night. Recordings and playback of tehm is no prblem it seems. Just the LiveTV thingy doesn't work nor Timeshifting LiveTV. I can try a new set of logs for you if you need a specific sequence? I CAN play back a recording in progress though, I checked that last night (actually at 1:30 this am ....)

Can you do two recordings at the same time, then confirm the files are non-zero size, then zip and attach the logs?

Sure. Will need to get back to you a bit later though, I just VNC'd in from work and saw her wife-ness is on the running machine watching the Olympics and woe-betide anyone who sees fit to interrupt that explosve combination ....

Sub,
Logs as requested, from 2 simultaneous recordings, confirmed file sizes are non-zero (See jpgs in logs which show this).

Weird thing is I could select the two shows and choose record from within PVRX2 (which is how I did this) but when I tried to do this (first) from the EWA, there was no "Record" button available, only a a Close and Streaming button .... odd. I'm assuming this is related to not being able to see the LiveTVBuffer file grow and hence no manual recording either.

It was this error in your live tv logs that I thought might have resulted in the problem, but its also present in your recording logs, so I can only assume its a non-critical error.

For live tv, do you get a file that is zero bytes long, or no file at all?

Oh. That's odd re the connect pins. i.e. that it still records even with faulty pins. What is the long-term solution for this drivers? Card Seating? Faulty Card? Codec? Any issues associated with this?

For LiveTV: No file at all.

Hmm, no file at all.

I think the recording service doesnt have the permission to create a file in that directory or something similiar.

Hmm, OK. I did give it a bunch of permissions, but I can try a different Dir. Or Delete that one and recreate it. Any special permissions I need to give it?
