Integrated DVD player

I would love to see a DVD player integrated into this program. How hard would this be to do? It already reads the correct format, so i suppose it would be a matter of reading the correct files in the correct order, or something lie that . I suspect its pretty obvious i have no idea of whats involved, but it would still be nice as part of the integrated package that GBPVR offers.

Since GB-PVR is so modular, for the meantime you could try the simpleVideo plug-in of myHTPC as an extra program to launch from GB-PVR.

I have no experience with it yet, since I'm still configuring the whole system (just started a week ago, and made the mistake to start with Linux ;->. It took me a week to finally find out that Hauppauge changed the tuner on the European PAL PVR-350, which is not supported in Linux yet).

I think GB-PVR is superior to myHTPC, but there are already some nice plug-ins made for it, there's also a web-browser available.

I'm trying to get the mapping of the remotecontrol buttons set correctly so I can use both the simpleVideo and the simpleBrowser.

If I succeeded I will post the results.

msm, have you noticed the 'task images' option which is disabled in the main menu skin.xml? This allows you to associate a image on main menu for each task. As you scroll through the tasks, the image changes. This could be useful in your skin. I'm not artistic enough to come up with good graphics, so left it disabled.

Had noticed that. I too am not that artistic, so i may leave that off for now . What i plan to do when i release the skin is to provide my paint shop pro files (with the layers, high res etc) (cant afford photshop ) so people can have an easy time making changes. This should allow the skin to be developed by more artistically gifted people
