Two questions

Is there any way to change the way that GB names recordings? I would like the episode name in the title, is there any way to possibly do that?

2. What video types are supported officially by the Video Library? what sort of backend does it use? normally i use VLC or MPlayer to play back video files so i never have playback issues, but a lot of my videos i am finding out are in strange or unsupported formats. is there anyway to use a different backend for the video library?

It doesnt do this be default since the episode isnt known for the vast majority of users around the world.

It uses Microsoft Directshow for playback. For MPEG files it'll use the video decoders you've specified in the playback tab of the config app, for other file types is uses the default decoder Directshow picks for that type of file.

There is nothing built in that would do this, but I think the RenameRecording.exe utility (available on the wiki) can be configured to automatically rename your recordings after they occur.

I dont think so. I'm fairly sure everything uses the GB-PVR's APIs for playback, which calls through to Directshow.
