Starting with Sky+ and HD boxes very shortly, but moving to all of them in time.

The new feature monitors whether people are using their Sky+ or Sky HD box overnight between 11.00pm and 4.00am. If the box has not been used for a period of two hours after 11.00pm, an 'Auto Standby' warning will pop up on screen for three minutes. If there is no further use the box will go into Standby mode automatically.

I know the Hauppauge PVR150 is unable to send any IR signals to wake up a sky box from standby, so there may be a wishlist request sometime in the future to send "keepalive" channel changes if there is an overnight recording due.

Ive just been playing around with our sky+ box, and found that if its in standby the blue sky button will wake the box up ready for a channel change, and if its already awake the blue buttons ignored.

does the Haup IR software allow you to tag the blue buttons IR on the front of all channel change requests? so the channel request would be 'blue button + 1 + 0 + 1' rather than '1 + 0 + 1' for channel 101. I know you can do this in HIP/HIPSend, but never used a Haup IR blaster so dunno how flexible it is?

This is essentially what I do with my Redrat channel changer. When my PC wakes from standby it sends the SKY button several times to ensure the digibox is not in standby (using the GBRPVRWAKE utility). I then let the built in GBPVR Redrat support to change channels only when the recording starts.
This works because the Redrat has a commandline utility that can put in wake.cmd (for GBPVRWAKE) to send the SKY button signal.

The PVR150 blaster can only send digits.
