Thanks - following the link i tried the test to see if the console comes up and it does so i am not really sure if its broken or not.

As its only the pie chart that doesnt work i may stay as i am for now, although i havent rebuilt this box in ages and wasnt planning to in the near future either Sad

ah - The link I posted form from this old thread

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=10311

Actually this fixed (despite not being for XP) the specific error "Process performance counter is disabled" so it looks like I am referring to an different WMI problem.

Sorry if I have mislead you.

I have the same problem. It is Windows Vista related issue. It worked when I had Windows XP, then I upgraded to Vista Enterprise and it didn't work, then I installed Vista Ultimate and it still didn't work. I'll check the previous options and see if those can help out.

The disappearing pie chart problem has something to do with Hauppauge's latest drivers, in particular their IR Remote Control driver. I downloaded and installed ir32_245_22350.exe, which is version 2.45 of the IR driver. After the installation, my pie chart was gone. I uninstalled the IR driver and the pie chart returned. After some more struggling, I finally ended up using HCWClear to completely uninstall the Hauppauge drivers, then installed the old drivers from the CD that came with my card. Everything has been working fine ever since.

Well, I have Vista and no such thing has happened!

Also, I don't want to try the old drivers for fear of incompatibilty.
