Hey ALL!

I'm building up my new monster PVR and I'm a little confused on a couple things:

I'm installing a DVB-S and a 150 card in the machine. Both Hauppauge.

1) Should I use DVB EPG and if so what should I be careful of? I noticed that in the config it warns not to use a "full" epg reload with DVB. What does that mean?

2) If I plug in the IR Blaster that comes with the 150 into the DVB card will it work? Right now the IR Recieve only works through the DVB card. Not really sure why or how to change it to the 150.

3) What is the IR Blaster that comes with the 150 called? There is nothing in the Channel Changer config that matches a Hauppauge 150 type name.

Any info or pointers to documentation are very much appreciated! I'm very happy with my new machine but the multi-source thing is throwing me off...

Thanks!

It depends really. The DVB EPG works better with some broadcasters than others, it might be a good idea to backup you database (gbpvr.db3), then give it a go and see how you get on.

You can use the full epg reload option with it. Several releases back this could result in gaps in the EPG, but its much better these days.

I find its best to not mix EPG sources if the capture sources share channels.

The IR Blaster will only work on the PVR150.

You have to use the .exe channel changer, and point it at c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\HaupBlast.exe. Before it'll work though, you need to have configured the correct box type etc using the Hauppauge BlastCFG app.

I have a Hauppauge DVB-S card along with a PVR150. By default the IR remote software wants to use the DVB card, but I need to use the PVR150 with it's blaster. I have to disable the IR part of the DVB card in control panel/hardware after installing it. (and each time I do a driver update  )
