For digital devices it's whatever the broadcaster is transmitting.

For analog it uses the 'LiveTV quality' profile.

a better question is what settings are used for "streaming" in client server mode?

The answer is exactly the same regardless of whether you're watching locally or streaming to a client somewhere else in the house.

To be honest, no - I have no plans to do that in the near future.

No new feature. He is justing about watching live tv on a client PC, which has been possible ever since GB-PVR added client support.

really?

because using file share mode my live TV is jumpy, as I would expect for the bitrate I have, but streaming it comes over fine... maybe file sharing has more overhead.

Many directshow filters used for playing files are built with the expectation that of very fast access to the data in the files, and this often just isnt the case when you're play files off remote network shares. (its still fast access, but a magnitude slower than local access - slow enough to cause problems often)

The stream mode replaces the main offending component with one that gets the data in a slightly more efficient manner.
