I should be more specific. When I'm watching live TV or a recording and the volume is muted, no buttons respond. When at the main menu, I mute the volume and I can cursor, run plugins, etc.

hmmm, do you have a multimedia keyboard with the vol/mute buttons on it?
try that mute and see if keys still respond...
also, see if same happens when muting from the mixer with the mouse..
if that doesn't work, somethings intercepting the mute call...
[probably software of some sort]
may want to re-install sound card drivers..

I have a Logitech Cordless MX3200 keyboard, which has multimedia keys. I tried the following scenario with multiple input devices:
  • Have sound unmuted
  • Play a recording
  • Mute by an input device
  • Click GB-PVR on taskbar to give it focus
  • Hit Escape on keyboard to quit recording

When I used the mute button on keyboard, hitting Escape did nothing. When I used mouse to mute the master volume, hitting Escape did nothing. I've even configured Event Ghost and still nothing. Something is preventing keystrokes to get to GB-PVR while the system volume is muted. I had Firefox Options dialog up, and hitting Escape closed the dialog while the system was muted, so it has something to do with GB-PVR. Is there a way to have GB-PVR log all input it receives and log how it processed the keystroke so I can see if it's getting the keystroke, but not processing it?

Is the problem only from your remote? ie, does the keyboard continue work when the audio is muted?

You're still the only person that has reported anything like this, so I'm sure its just something funky happening on your setup.

The problem only happens from the remote. Keyboard works when audio is muted. The remote itself can't possibly know when audio is muted, therefore not allowing other button presses to be sent. I can see Event Ghost log the button presses when audio is muted, so they get that far. I see my action try to send the keystroke to GB-PVR for each button. Something is getting caught up in that part of the process, and I'm not sure how to analyze that other than have GB-PVR logs incoming keystrokes and how they're processed.

I just realized that when using HIP, I installed the alternate MCE driver. Can someone post the regular and alternate drivers they're using? Now that I'm using Event Ghost, I need to put the original MCE remote drivers back, maybe my problem will then go away.
