Power off MVP from PC?

When I get a power cut (perhaps 5 a year + when I turn the mains off for fiddling with the electrics... so foopin tonnes of times ) I have to reset the MVP, turn on the Haupauge services and then power off with the remote. Then when I turn it on again it should pick up GBPVR.

Is there a way to power off the MVP from the PC server so this could all be done via a script?

Yessir, there is.

But only with the mvmpc dongle.
But.... why are you still using the H-services...?

why am i still using h services? if I don't then the mvp never wakes up.... though I seem to remember with one version of gbpvr I didn't need to do this? hmmm...? edit: i turn off h services once the power off remote is accepted mind ...
