Greetings

i was wondering if most people get the wired mvp (if they had a choice) cause of the faster speed of wired or not ?

It depends on your situation. If you can get a wire to it, I would say by all means use a wired one.
If not you will need to decide if you have enough bandwidth to have it work decently. Most G systems can handle about 30megabits/sec when they are running at 54 meg. (and you won't be at 54 meg very much)
If your PVR is wireless and not adhoc, and you are running a wireless MVP you get at most 15megabits/sec. For 6 meg video that would be a stretch. If you are wired from the PVR to the access point, then you are probably ok as long as you average 18 megabits/sec (raw) or higher.
I'm not listing any N compliant modes since the MVP doesn't support it.
Also you better not have any B cards on your network and you need to run OFDM mode only otherwise the protect mechanism sucks up alot of bandwidth. (Some systems automatically enable/disable this so it may not be an option on yours)
Lots more things to consider but one good test would be to try and stream to your laptop over ewa. Does that work very well? How about when a bunch of people are walking around?

Is why I said (if given a choice).

In my case I could run a wire but prefer not to if I can feel good aenough about the wireless.

But more detail on my setup, I have

internet cable -> modem -> wireless router -> (wired) pvr

I have a old wired mvp and another wired router that I was thinking of putting in front of my pvr, Then hookup my wired mvp to another tv and a wireless-to-wired conversion unit to the mvp so that I do not have to run the wire.

That's my rig, in WDS Bridge Mode.

(sorry can't draw that with ASCII too well this a.m. :-)
HyperWRT Thibor 15c on both Routers. Works really well, 99% of the time...

How far will the wireless MVP be from the access point? How many walls between the access point and the MVP? Any metal?

I am running a similiar setup. I have a WRT54G (G only in options) as my main router, and a WRT54GL with hyper flash running in WAP mode.

It runs great with no problems.

My question is if I put this same setup in two other rooms, and they were all running at the same time, would my wireless bandwidth be split three ways from the router? It sounds to me like this would be the case. If so, I guess only one wireless MVP would be be functional at a time...

Not neccesarily split evenly. If one system is at a lower bit rate, it will hog the air, longer than the others. The worst case is if one system is at 6 meg and the other is at 54 meg.
Over G and relatively short distances, you should be able to get 2 sd streams working. Three would be difficult.
Each stream needs 6 mbits *2 (for overhead) = 12mbits. 24 mbits for two streams. 36 for three, that would be tough to maintain.
