Hi

I am have problems mapping channels it cant find any channels on optus D1 (ie freeview channels).

I have a AVermedia A700 DVB-S.
I orginal had this card in another PC i built for a media centre and everything worked fine on Optus B1 before the switch to D1.
I stopped using it for a couple of months.
Untill i bought a New PC for my media centre. Durring this time everything was switched to D1.

Using the AVerTV software i am able to get all the channels from Optus D1.

Using GBPVR I am able to get channels on Optus B3, but not on B1,D1.

i have checked all the settings and everything seems right

[SATTYPE]
1=1602
2=Optus D1 (NZ FTA)
[DVB]
0=2
1=12483,H,22500,34
2=12456,H,22500,34

The LNB is a SKY dual LNB.
LNB = 10750

I have tried everything to me it seems there is a issue between the Avermedia A700 and Optus D1.

There is another post on here where the person seems to be having the same problem.

I really like the features on GBPVR so i would like to get it working.
I dont want to use the AVerTV.

If anyone has any ideas it would I would be very greatful.

The dual Sky LNB contains a 22Khz diseqc switch. Unfortunately diseqc switching is not covered by the BDA spec, so each manufacturer does it differently.

Diseqc switching is only available in GB-PVR with Twinhan and Hauppauge devices. The has been extended to TechnoTrend devices aswell in the next release (though not tested yet).

Unfortunately I dont no anyone at AverMedia, so I dont have the information that would be required to implement diseqc switching for this device.

thanks for the reply

So if i get another dish with a single LNB it should work?

I was going to get another dish anyway beacause of the whole sky on Vertical and freeview on Horizontal.

Let me know how you get on with this.
I couldn't get the Sky dual LNB to work with this card, and tried another LNB (courtesey of Sub) which I couldn't get to work, so I am guessing it may have something to do with the card.

Can you also let me know what the LNB settings you used in the AverTV app, as I couldn't get that set up correctly.

Thanks

I managed to get it going.

i firstly put up a new hills 80cm dish with a sharp 11300 LNB.

after a couple of hours in darkness i managed to align it.

I got it working in VerTV first.

When i tried it in GBpvr it still wouldnt find D1.

i then changed 1602 to

[SATTYPE]
1=1602
2=Optus D1 (NZ FTA)
[DVB]
0=2
1=12483,V,22500,34
2=12456,V,22500,34

and it worked.

now is it better to rotate the LNB 90 deg and change it back to H or should i just leave it as is?

To get AVerTV working using the dual LNB this was the settings

switch type 13V/18V

LOF

low LOF 10750
switch 10750
high 10750
freq switch ticked
pol dual

then go to progams

ADVANCE

select Range Scan

frequency 12400 - 12700
symbol 22500-45000

then press SCAN

it will take about 30min -1hr

Yeah, sounds like you've got the skew wrong on the LNB. In NZ, looking front on to the dish, the LNB is generally twisted to about 8 O'Clock.
