Could someone please either post or send to me privately, the instructions for setting up the Hauppauge 150 card?

I followed the instructions on the Hauppauge site but there is absolutely no correlation of what happens with the site's instructions. I see no 'setup.exe' file anywhere and I'm sitting here with a driver but have no clue how to install.

I tried to start over and run HCWDriverInstall.exe

But, I immediately get the response message, "directory\HcwDriverInstall.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

This is crappy software, imho. I didn't think I'd need the CD. Now, if I can't get this working, I have to wait. Theoretically, I shouldn't need it.

I have drivers showing in the Hardware Drivers list but I never noticed any setup.exe file or any Win2000 icon so I don't know what happened.

directory\HcwDriverInstall.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

BlastCfg.exe and IRBlasterCfg.exe both won't run.

**Message: Component 'CHSUITE.OCX" or one of its dependencies not currently registered: a file is missing or invalid. [OK] **

How do you delete and unistall all this stuff so you can start over?

You can find pretty details instructions on the shspvr forum. For example: http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=10830.0

Follow the install links at the bottom which match your operating system.

Does anyone install into a partition other than C?

My C partition got really low so I installed into another drive partition. I just want to make sure the (Hauppauge) software *does* install properly if you have your drives set up in that way (many people do it). I had so many errors at the end of the install and that might have been a sign I would have problems.

I don't think it's due to the partitioning but I just want to make sure people do have success with such a set up. It would be good too if anyone reads this post and has encountered the errors I posted. I have no clue what they indicate.

I went to that page, Sub. Thanks. I will try it.

By 'non-Windows,' do you mean non-Microsoft?

I asked the drive/partition question because my Hard Drive was recently re-partitioned. I had 'downloads' on a partition other than C and from the change, the D partition was getting smaller so when I installed the drivers, I installed them into a different partition. Windows being Windows, still likes to put stuff in C so now I have parts in C, downloaded files in D and the installed drivers in another partition.

The one thing I liked about using Mythtv/Linux was that the OS doesn't screw you around when installing like Window$ does.

Anyway, I also asked the questions because of the previously mentioned errors and problems (read initial posts) encountered when trying to install drivers.

No, I mean "non-windows". XP and it's built in commands and the like are on C:, but everything else is elsewhere. MS Office along with 90% of may apps is installed on E: "My Documents" is on D: etc etc. Drivers and the like I let windows put them in the usual place as it may be possible that one of my drives may be offline when booting up.

It's easy enough to change the defaul install location to wherever you like and I chose to do it that way for backup purposes.
