Ahh, excellent, so it looks like the next version will be squashing both the annoyances/bugs I'm having, looking forward to it! Thanks.

One thing I noticed when using the remote via MVP in the latest 23.8 release is that when changeing channels, the timeout between number presses seems to timeout much faster than the previous release.  Is this configurable so that I can allow more time between channel number presses before the number disappears? (i.e. the time before hitting the next digit or the enter key)

I haven't posted this before because I thought it must have been something I was doing inadvertantly, but I'm getting some strange things happening with the sound when watching live TV.

I can be watching live TV for ages and everyting is OK, then suddenly there is no sound! I kept finding this happening when I went to make a cuppa during a commercial break, so I thought that I must have hit the mute key or something when I put my headphones down. I've since found that this happens at completely random intervals. The only way to get the sound back is to switch channels and back (or quit to menu and back).

It's not a major problem, but can be a bit annoying if you've been watching something and have paused it for several minutes at some point in the programme and then have to lose that because you have to switch channels to get the sound back. One thing that definately makes it happen is if I'm watching live TV in a window and open Internet Explorer or Outlook Express, but it can happen when the computer is doing nothing apart from running GB-PVR.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is there anything I can email to you (sub) to help you track down the problem?

I've noticed the missing sound when playing back my recordings. Seems to be after about 16 minutes of playing the sound goes out for a couple of minutes then returns. I tried playing the MPG file with Windows Media Player with the same result.

Hi Everyone,

First of all, I would like to thank the GB-PVR team for this excellent software and their time and effort in both continue the development and the support. I'm new to all this and after I read some comments on the software, I deceided to go out and buy MVP and PVR 350 card.

It all worked well after the installation and things look quite clear on my tv, especially after I used the Flat Blue - high vis.
One thing I haven't managed to get going is the funky overlay shown on the screenshots for the new version (like mini tv guide on live tv and the data etc. on the menu). Do I need to do anything special in the setup for accessing this, like when I press the green button on the remote on live tv nothing appears.

Forgive me if this has already been covered in this forum but I spent a lot of time in trying to find the answer.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Thor

Top marks for adding VBR support in this version. It works beautifully with my Hauppauge PVR USB2, and it really does make a difference: 2GB vs 1.2GB for a 44 minute TV show with no loss of quality, using the "out of the box" medium quality setting.

Thanks again for all your hard work.

sub - thanks for the prompt - been using GB-PVR for about a month now with my MVP - its great - my living room has had a DVD, VHS, Radio and noisy PC removed leaving an ethernet port, MVP and TV = happy wife and domestic bliss - what price can you put on that.
