I'v managed to get the Software recording plugin working with my QS-401 card, but the card needs some fine tuning (ie. frequency offset) to get the norwegian cable channels clear and stable. Where can I do that? Can't find any option for fine tuning, so I guess I have to modify the frequency for the actual channels slightly, but where do I find this tables?

This information isnt stored with GB-PVR anywhere. I'm guessing your plugin has some config files with this, or it just depends on the Microsoft defaults like the built capture card support.

As far as I can see none of the files belonging to the Software recorder plugin has anything with frequency to do. What you are saying is essentially that the driver for the card has the actual tuning parameters embedded?

In the Netherlands we have the same issue. To get the right frequency we enter the frequency in the windows registry, like this:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-0]
"1"=dword:0c65d400
"2"=dword:0cdfe600

In GB-PVR you than enter 1 as the source channel and windows translates these values into the right frequency (in this case 0c65d400, a hex value but you can enter it as a decimal).

Don't know for sure if this is what you're looking for, I hope it helps.

Yep, what he said. Microsoft has a default set of mappings from channel number to frequency for each combination of country and tuning type. The registry settings above is the mechanism MS provide to allow the defaults to be overridden.

AH!Smile So the value entered for "1" in the registry is the actual centerfrequency for the channel I want to be number "1"?

Is there something similar for audio? I have one channel that I can't listen to on either a PVR 150 or an HVR 1600 and of course its a music video channel that needs clear sound.

I went through this quiet a while back due to offset frequencies

This post and the spreadsheet in this one might be able to help a wee bit?

I added some of this stuff to http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...elMappings a while back too.
