I had a hard drive failure and upon installing a new hard drive and copying stuff over, I cannot get the PC Client PVRX2 to work. It will open, but there are no recordings shown, and the pending recordings are from 2007--and it won't let me cancel those either. I can pull up videos fine in the video library and they play fine. But nothing else seems to work, including Live TV.

My MVP is fine though--it shows the correct recordings new and pending. It must also be getting the recording service to work, but it successfully records the shows I have in the EPG.

I have been reading through my logs to look for an issue, but can't seem to find it. I have tried all three types of logs, but am not exactly sure what I am looking for.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you zip and attach the client logs, I'll see if anything stands out.

It sounds like the client is looking at an old version of gbpvr.db3 ... have you got the shares set-up on the server and the sharenames right on the client?

Attached are my logs--let me know if they are not the right ones. I have it on the debug setting.

Thanks.

Oh as to the server--I think I have the sharenames right, but not quite sure about the version. But I could have anything set up wrong since I did copy over a bunch of my stuff.

I cant see any attempt to watch live tv or a recording in those logs. Can you try again?

Attached is another log--when I try Live TV--I get a message saying that no tuners are available but I can watch one of the other recordings. Never seen that before. I see my tuner fine in the Config set up, and it works fine on Windows Media center, and on the MVP, just not on the PC.

Thanks for your help.

Is it supposed to be a PC client to a server on another machine? In that log, it doesnt look like you have set as a client.

Are those logs are for the "client"? In the logs there is this setting.

settings/ClientMode : false

Perhaps you are having trouble with the VirtualStore?

Aww spam-nuts. Maybe I am using the wrong terminology. Sorry. I used to be able to view the same thing on my MVP and on my PC. The PC version on my desktop isn't working. It doesn't update, doesn't record, Live TV doesn't work--and it is showing pending shows from 2007--that i can't delete or cancel. I check the recording xml doc, and it shows what I see on the MVP fine, but not on my PC. Guess I need to visit the wiki and get the right lingo.

If you're just trying to use the tuners from the local PC, enable live preview mode, then try live tv again, then zip and attach pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.
