Hi

I wonder if it is possible to view the output that is beeing shown on the MVP locally?
I think I read about the Hauppauge software doing this but I have not seen anything about GBPVR beeing able to do this.

The reason I ask is that I have been thinking about having a laptop in the car running GBPVR with two MVPConfused with LCD monitors (about 7") for the kids to view movies and listen to music. If it was possible to view (and perhaps remote-control) the passenger in the front seat could perhaps help the kids (4 and 7 years old) selecting correct video or MP3 (the 4 year old cannot read). Not a major issue but a nice to have feature.

I've not used it, but doesn't MVPMC dongle support VNC'ing into it?? It was something I'd wanted to do some time ago and it was suggested ISTR.

mvpmc can be configured to be a vnc client to a vnc server but not the other way around.

OK, too bad it does not work exactly the way I want to. Am I misinformed or do the Hauppauge support this?
I may have a go at it anyway later this winter, it would be a nice setup to bring on trips. It would even work in hotelrooms connecting to the TV.

I have a Volvo V70 D5 (Diesel) so the battery is large enough (and the alternator). I had just this setup in mind, a small switch connected to my laptop and two MVPConfused with an LCD each (I would try to get as much as possible 12 V but if not I would go for a converter). I have no plans för a tuner card for the setup, just a large enough USB drive with movies and the children MP3Confused.

It's up to the server whether it provides this sort of thing. I think the Hauppauge server does allow you to view the menu screens on the server if you add some registry setting, so you might be able to use their server for this (though this means living with the clunky Hauppauge menus).

You used to be able to do it with the old GBPVR.exe MVP server, though it was far from perfect, and wouldnt have given you what you wanted. I didnt bother implementing anything like it in the new PVRX2 server.
