Quick question about duplicate channel names in SchedulesDirect. For example, PPV appears as the channel name multiple times, but on different channel numbers. From what I have read, GBPVR will only include one of the channels from the list duplicates. Is there a way to include them all in the guide?

Thanks in advance.

Wow - thanks for the fast reply. Any plans to add this in the future? If not, is there an easy way for me to intercept the channel descriptions after downloading and change the description? Perhaps writing a utility that changes the description and calling it before GBPVR processes it? If so, in order to get the new channels in GBPVR would I need to delete and re-add the capture source?

Thanks again.

No immediate plans to the change this. GB-PVR as always needed unique channel names to identify channels, so this limitation has been in place since 2004.

If you used XMLTV for your EPG source then you'd be able to change these channel names to give them unique names (ie PPV1, PPV2, PPV3 etc...).

I am using i-xmltv. I tried changing the .conf file and re-running UpdateEPG but the log file still uses PPV, not the updated "PPVxxx" channel names I have set in the .conf file. Is this the right way to change the descriptions?

I dont know what i-xmltv generated files look like in this regard, but if you zip and attach on of the xmltv files it generates, I'll check that channel names look unique.

The XML file does not include the channels. It looks like the reason for this is because it detects the duplicate names and does not add them. The .conf file I am referring to is a configuration file initially generated by i-xmltv when configuring. That file contains all the duplicates. Even though I changed the names in that file, it seems like it ignores the changes and uses the names from SD.

Ok. If they're not in the xml file, then they definitely wont show up in GB-PVR.

You'd have to find way in i-xmltv or some other xmltv client to grab the listing from schedules direct, and rename the PPV channels before the file is supplied to GB-PVR for importation
