If you have a recordings-dump.xml, then you can use the Import Recordings feature to pull them in.

When I last tested it, ChangeDatabase used to kept the recordings, but its been well over year since I last tried it. I havnt come across anyone that has needed to use it in a very long time now. It might not be 100% compatible these days, resulting in your missing recordings.

Now the channel listing looks good, except that it still only displays the station call letters in leftmost column on the Guide (ie no channel numbers appear). I did edit Config.xml and changed the one line you indicated to:
<TVGuideChannelHeaderType>2</TVGuideChannelHeaderType>
The original value was 3...

I then started PVRX2 - but Guide still displays without channel numbers. I then ran Config and updated EPG again - in case it was the one that writes the channel numbers. But I still get just the station call letters...
Start PVRX2, then view the TV Guide, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.

Attached is pvrx2-exe.log containing the log file you asked for. Thanks!

The header type is not set correctly in those logs. It should be set to:

<TVGuideChannelHeaderType>2</TVGuideChannelHeaderType>

This will only help in PVRX2.exe though. GBPVR.exe hasnt been updated since feature was added.

Oops, I had tried several values for that setting, 0 being the last one I tried. I just put it back to 2, but it still only displays the stations call letters. I am attaching another log after viewing TV Guide now that the value is back at 2...

The way I update this setting is by editing Config.xml (in main GBPVR folder), then starting GB's Config utility (simply clicking on OK button), at which point Config restarts the Recording Service etc. I assume using Config causes GB to read in the latest copy of the Config.xml? Am I missing any steps?

Thanks!

Hmm, I cant see any way it wouldnt showing you the channel numbers next to the name when it is set to 2.

Are you seeing any visual differences in the TV Guide screen when you try 0,1,2? (3 is a special case that just uses one of the other modes based on the number of channel icons available)

I did not see any change in the way the TV Guide displayed the leftmost column of channel identifiers - even when I change that setting to 0,1 or 2.

I'm sure you're doing something funny, but I havnt managed to guess what it is yet.

If you've got VNC on that machine, I'm happy to remotely connect and sort it out for you.

Thanks, but I'd have to unblock a lot of security stuff to allow that. I'll poke around some more, as there must be a reason. If all else fails I'll uninstall GB, delete any residual registry entries, files etc, then reinstall from scratch. I'll make sure I save my recordings-dump.xml file so I can import...

Thanks so much for all your help!
