Manual Recording without a guide

Since my guide is sometimes whacked and/or I have channels with no guide at all, is it possible to schedule a program as channel 5 - M-F at 8pm to 10pm without any specific program name and schedule date

You can use the 'Manual Rec' button in the Recording Screen.

sure, that's what manual recordings are for
go to the recordings on the left you have manual rec, choose that, set your channel & hour & don't forget to change the record type

Manual Rec was set to start at 10/22/2007 7pm-10pm and record from Monday to Friday. It's now 10/23/2007 Tuesday 7:22pm, and Manual Rec did not trigger . Am wondering if it might be date specific? Wanted a Monday to Friday recording regardless of date.

Did the recording previously show as pending?

I checked pending and it did not appear, however, I decided to restart the recording service, and suddenly it appeared in pending and started to record. Pending also showed the rest of the week as pending as well. I don't know what I did to make it start, but at least it's recording.
